Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used to replace one or several missing teeth. They are removable. If you have none of your own natural teeth left you will require a full denture. Click here to learn more about full dentures.

There are effectively four types of partial denture available through DentureTech, named for the primary material used to create the partial denture. They are Acrylic, Valplast, Chrome and Titanium. Occasionally combinations of different types of materials are used to create a partial denture that suits your requirements.

The shade and shape of your natural teeth will be matched by our highly skilled Clinicians to ensure the artificial teeth on your partial denture blend inconspicuously with your natural teeth.

Acrylic Partial Dentures
An acrylic partial denture is an inexpensive solution to the problem of missing teeth.

Constructed using the highest quality acrylic as a body, your partial denture is designed to comfortably fill gaps left by missing teeth. Clasps around your natural teeth may be necessary to ensure the partial fits well.

Valplast Partial Dentures

Valplast is a flexible, gum coloured nylon material. Valplast is most often recommended for those wishing to replace just one or two missing teeth. It is extremely comfortable to wear and does not require wire clasps to hold it in place. Valplast is entirely imperceptible in the mouth.

Chrome Partial Dentures
Chrome partial dentures are constructed using one of the dental industry's most reliable alloys, chrome cobalt.

A chrome frame is constructed around your remaining teeth, with the artificial teeth being closely matched to your existing shade and shape. Chrome partial dentures are comfortable to wear, very strong and generally last considerably longer than an acrylic partial, therefore providing better long term value for money.

Titanium Partial Dentures
Titanium is a unique resource used in aerospace technology, orthopaedic surgery and now dentistry. Titanium represents the ultimate in lightweight dental technology. A Titanium partial is an incredible 400% lighter than conventional dental materials, and is described by many patients as "weightless". In addition, Titanium partial dentures exhibit superior biocompatibility for those who are sensitive to conventional alloys such as chrome. Titanium also displays a superior strength to weight ratio.
